Northern Tigers got back to winning ways with a 4-1 drubbing of Fraser Park Dragons at home at Mills Park on Sunday.
It was their first win since their 1-0 victory over Sydney University a month ago and takes them further away from the bottom-three drop-zone on points, but they still remain ninth on the ladder.
Before the win, they had lost four out of their previous five games since a goalless draw with first-placed Bonnyrigg White Eagles.
For coach Hugh McCrory, has been a long time between victory drinks, and it was a welcome return to form for last year's league winners and grand finalists.
"It hasn't sunk in yet," McCrory said after the match. "It could have been more. They were ordinary. We totally dominated."
Goal-scorers Marcus Frost, Tom Spencer and Tim Gledhill were the Tigers coach's standouts in the match that the Tigers were in control of from the outset.
Still in mid-table, the North Shore side are still a possibility of making the top five on a congested Super League ladder.
Rockdale City Suns, Fraser Park, Central Coast Lightning, St George Saints and the Tigers are all within two points of each other with three games left and fifth spot is going to be a close battle, especially with Saints and the Dragons with two games in hand (including one against each other).
The Tigers are not out of the race by any means, with a relatively easy run compared to the other sides. They face bottom side Fairfield City Lions, Rockdale and Mt Druitt Town Rangers, and while all three are winnable games, coach McCrory was too shrew to put any pressure on his side to conjure a finals miracle.
"We should beat the Lions, but we're probably not in it," he said. "We just want to finish the season on a high."
The Tigers face the Lions on Saturday night, 7:30pm at Norford Park, Sefton.
