Silly Season
January 1st 2009 22:25
January is upon us and that means silly season in the football transfer window. There are alot of rumours already flying around and we here at world soccer will try our best to sift of the rubbish and only report the truth.
We will start by looking at Wayne Bridges 12 million GBP move from Chelsea to Manchester City. Bridge will make the move as City Boss Mark Hughes looks to splash the cash and strengthen his defence. Only Chelsea have scored more goals than City this year, but a dodgy defence has seen them languishing in the lower half of the table. Mark Hughes has an open cheque book to rectify the problem, but it will have to work pretty quickly or I am sure that Hughes' head will be next on the chopping block.
