Liverpool losing grip
January 20th 2009 04:43
A late Tim Cahill goal subjected Liverpool to their 8th draw of the season and means that they have relinquished their top of the table position to Manchester United. Liverpool dominated the match against their local rivals Everton and went ahead through a Steven Gerrard strike from distance. It was some slack defending from a Mikel Arteta freekick that allowed Tim Cahill to steal a point in the dying minutes. Liverpool have only lost one game all season but the number of points they have dropped to so called lesser teams will not be good enough for them to clinch their first title since 1991.
